Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine is definitely the main star of my trip to Oregon (2017)
Located at Portland, Oregon.

It is a fairly small restaurant with chefs from Thailand.  There is a bar downstairs and an outdoor seating location decorated with grapevines. (outdoor seating are available during certain seasons.)

The owner of the restaurant is actually my parent’s close friend during high school.

The walls are also decorated with paintings and decorations that give out a “Thai” atmosphere

 My favorite dish at this place is definitely the Kao Moo Tod (DEEP FRIED MARINATED PORK) $ 15.00. It's a simple dish: Deep-Fried Marinated Pork, Rice, and Steamed Vegetables.

Honestly, words cannot describe how flavorful this. Sweet, salty, and savory, the sauces and spices that go into the marinade are sourced right from Thailand.

The pork is beautifully fried, and that’s all that really matters. The sides just compliment the main.

Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine  has  a great variety of Thai food for you to try, both main dishes and desserts such as Gai Satay  / Tom Yum / Green Curry / Beef Mussamun Curry /

A Must Try : House Special Curry  - red curry peanut sauce with chicken, Bell Pepper, carrots, and broccoli

These are some of their sides: Pot Stickers  and Oh My God!, a spring roll dish consisting of imitation crab meat and cream cheese. Served with their homemade sauce and this is an absolute treat!

My dessert of choice here is the Coconut Creme Brûlée.  Again, simplicity is key here. A simple creme brûlée on a coconut shell, complete with coconut meat.

Also, they have a bunch of homemade ice cream flavors, including: Coconut, Mango, Green Tea, and more

This is an absolute recommendation if you ever plan on visiting Portland, Oregon
